Hopefully everyone is going to get to enjoy some time off from work and quality time with friends and family! Few thoughts and schedule updates:
Late notice but we decided to do the Anthem Turkey Day 5K tomorrow, Aaron and Susan are signed up and I think Justin as well. We would love to have anyone that wants to join in and burn some calories before we eat them! The Anthem community is located in Broomfield off Hwy 7 and Lowell. If you get registered make sure you let us know so we can all meet up! All classes are cancelled on Thursday.
FRIDAY SCHEDULE: I know some of you are crazy black Friday shoppers so you can use that as your morning warm up! For those of you that aren’t gonna shop, you can sleep in a little! We are doing a 8 and 9am class on Friday and all other classes will be cancelled! Saturday will be normal schedule 8:30 and 9:30!
Now there is the issue that some of need to deal with of “the holiday season”. Here is my challenge to you, let this year be the year that you enjoy family, friends, snow, great workouts and create awesome memories, and stick you your routine and nutrition plan. I know that his time of year there are lots of parties, yummy sugary food, and cold mornings that make it a little harder to get to the gym, but I TRULY believe that the reason people gave an average of 13lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas is because they let themselves off the hook! Have you ever done that? Have you thought to yourself, well it’s the holidays, I will work it off, or get back on track come January? WHY? WHY? WHY? do that to yourself? I know that my personal resolution years ago was to never again make a resolution to “lose weight, get on track, etc”, because I look at each December as a challenge to stay dedicated and focused on my goals. So I hear the voices right now saying, “But it’s so hard, cause the food is there and I want to celebrate and enjoy the holidays”. To that I say, “Please enjoy the holidays, good friends and good times but don’t make food the focus, and if it is the focus why not take this time to introduce your friends and family to your healthy way of life.” Teach your friends and family that lean meat, veggies, fruit and nuts can not only be as tasty as the crummy sugar laden crap they are eating, but that they will feel better at the end of the day and at the end of year for sure! Be proud of the changes you have made in your life and be the one to help someone else find the key to changing their own life! Do it now, do it in December, and be closer to your goals come January, and by doing this you will prove not only to those around you, but also to yourself that you are worth taking care of and life is more fun when you are healthy! Burn some calories this holiday season and have fun doing it Take the kids outside and have a snowball fight or take your husband or wife(who needs kids to act like one), build a snowman, go sledding, go snowshoeing, go skiing, go snowboarding, go snowmobiling, go for a run, beat the kids on the Wii dance game when it’s cold outside, just move, and get your butt in here as much as you can! I will be posting some recipe ideas for Zone and Paleo dishes that you can take or make tomorrow for your family, but I would love to hear your ideas too! Post your recipes and “strategies” for making this your best December yet to comments!
